Thanks to the generosity of Cycles of Life, the Cloud City Wheelers have 4 entries into the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race that we are auctioning off to the highest bidder. Proceeds go directly to the Cloud City Wheelers to support trails and projects in Leadville/Lake County.
Some background on what we do and how much it costs:
-In 2022 we built an asphalt pumptrack that cost $254,000, we still need $80,000 to finish this great new park.
-We host races that cost $5000 for insurance alone. These races are held in the winter to attract people when our town needs it most.
-We build sweet trails! in 2022 we built 3.5 miles of trail for $35,000. (The average professionally built trail costs $30,000 per mile!) We hope to raise that same amount to build again this summer.
-We groom 20 miles of singletrack during the winter. Gas, oil, and parts add up. Our new Snowdog and groomer cost $8000.
That's just a glimpse on what we do for our community and the costs it takes to make our great work happen.
