Write a
1-2 page program proposal and fill out this form. There is no specific format for the proposal, but some questions the proposal should try to answer, as specifically and with as little jargon as possible, are:
- What would the program’s technological goals be?
- Who would care if you accomplish those goals? (And ideally, why should the world more generally care)
- What work would need to be done to accomplish those goals?
- What is the state of the field or technology today and why hasn’t the work you’re describing happened?
Bonus points for fermi estimates that illustrate why the work is important, unintuitive, or why you think it will succeed.
If the 1-pager looks good, we’ll reach out and have a video chat. Then, we’ll spend some time refining the proposal and have you give a quick talk at our lab meeting in order to give us each a chance to see how the other works and thinks.
Some legal notes on the one page proposal:
- We will acknowledge receipt, though may not provide detailed feedback.
- We will not share your proposal outside Speculative Technologies without your permission, unless you specify otherwise.
- But please do not disclose confidential, un-filed IP in your proposal.
