Millington Middle School is offering a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Honors Program to students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades for the 2019 - 2020 school year. This is NOT a program limited to APEX students. The STEAM Honors Program is available to students who meet eligibility requirements and successfully complete the application process.

The STEAM curriculum will provide:
• Rigorous learning environment based on technology and engineering
• Challenging, extended curriculum to the regular classroom
• Differentiated learning environment
• Increased teacher expectations of students
• Increased parent involvement
• Increased cooperative learning situations

ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS
• Maintain overall As and Bs in all academic subjects
• Be self-motivating
• Turn in work on time


ATTENDANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Not miss more than 5 days per semester

BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
• Maintain Es in all subject areas

COFIDENTIALITY CLAUSE
• All components of the application are considered confidential and will not be returned.


APPLICATION PROCESS
Completed applications are due on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. No late applications accepted.


Application Instructions

Application must be filled out in entirety before being turned in. Applicants will be notified by email if their child is accepted into the STEAM program.

Part 1 – Student Information

Part 2 – Student Questionnaire (to be completed by the student)

Part 3 – Parent/Guardian Questionnaire (to be completed by the parent/guardian)

Part 4 – Teacher Questionnaire (Two teachers are required to submit a questionnaire. Questionnaires will be sent to three teachers for completion)



Notification Process
All applications will be evaluated. Parents/guardians will be notified by email if your child is accepted in the MMS STEAM Honors program. Students who qualify, but not accepted due to space, will be placed on a waiting list and placed as space becomes available.
