This week is the 2nd Sunday of Easter.  We continue to hear John's Gospel account of Jesus' Resurrection and making his Presence known after his Resurrection.  This week Jesus will visit the disciples.  Watch the video below and discuss the questions that follow.
What does Jesus say when he appears to the disciples?  (Peace be with you) *
Why is it important that Jesus says, "Peace be with you" to his disciples?  Jesus said that he would have the Father send the Holy Spirit to help guide the disciples once he was gone.  When Jesus returns, he tells them, "Peace be with you" and then breathes on them and says, "Receive the Holy Spirit.  Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."  This was in fulfillment of his promise. *
What did it mean when Jesus said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.  Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained"?  As stated above, this is when Jesus fulfilled his promise to send the Holy Spirit, but in addition to that, this is when the priesthood started and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.   *
Why does Thomas not believe the disciples when they say Jesus visited them?  He wasn't there and he didn't believe he could get into the locked room. *
If you were Thomas, would you have believed without having to see Jesus and touch him?
