Application for Instrumental Lessons  2019/2020
Dear Parents,

Please be aware - There is a £40 a term charge for instrumental and singing lessons. This will pay for 10 lessons in a term.

This enables us to expand the number of students that are able to take up lessons and offer a wider range of instruments as well as offer entry to grade exams. All lessons are 25 minutes long and take place during the school day on a carousel basis ensuring that students never miss any lesson more than once a half term.

This charge will not apply to the following students:

1. Music Bursary students - Students will be permitted one free lesson a week, additional lessons will need to paid for.

2. Students studying music as an option in Year 10, Year 11 and Sixth Form

3. Students who qualify for pupil premium - These are children who have qualified for free school meals at any point in the past six years or children who have been looked after under local authority care. If you are unsure please contact the school office.

Lessons will be paid for through the WisePay system that students use to pay for their school lunches. Students will be selected for instrumental lessons based on musical ability, commitment to extracurricular activities and motivation in class.

Students should expect to attend an extracurricular club regularly for at least half a term before they are put on the timetable.

Parents should not pay for instrumental lessons until their child has  been notified that there is a space on the timetable.

Best Wishes
