Core Member Application
If you are interested in either continuing your journey as a core member or are just starting out, please fill out this application!

Basic roles of a core member:
Core members are to be mentors to teenagers who love them and show them the Love of Christ.

Practically this looks like: 

  • You will attend a day retreat for core members on September 10tb
  • You will help lead a small group of teens each week. This means you will love them, keep up with them, check in with them, support them, and talk about their faith with them. 
  • This also means you will attend Lifeteen on Sunday nights. If you will need to miss, you will have to communicate in advance with your co leader and the Youth ministry team.
  • You will attend Core team meetings/socials once a month. If you're in a position to host these events, we'd love you to! 
  • You will make an effort to attend some of your small group teen's sports games/plays etc throughout the year with other Core/youth ministers  (in accordance with your schedule)
  • You will meet with the Youth Ministry team twice through the year to evaluate how you and your small group are going.
  • You will arrive 30 minutes early to Lifeteen to help prepare for the night. 
  •  You will be assigned a role at Lifeteen such as lock up duty, trash duty, snack day, water duty etc that you will be asked to do at Lifeteen to help the night flow smoothly
  • You will show up and have fun! This ministry is full of life, joy, and love. 
There is mercy in each of these of course, but we want you to understand what commitment this entails. 

We could not do this without you and your willingness to love these teens.

Part of being a core member is having a relationship with Christ. We don't expect you to be perfect, but you (as well as us), should be actively trying to grow in your faith. Please, tell us about your relationship with God. *
We understand life happens, and sometimes you'll have to miss things. The only way we can grow a youth group, however, is if the leaders show up. If you are applying to be a core member, we expect you to be at most, if not all of the Lifeteens. If you will need to miss, you will need to let us know in advance so we can get coverage for your spot. If you think you cannot commit to this, please do not apply! If you do believe you can commit, great, and feel free to move forward with applying. *
We have various areas where we need core members to serve. We have a Confirmation program that meets for  a 6 week session and a retreat in the Spring, and a high school program that meets weekly from September-May. Which group would you like to help with? (Lifeteen,  Confirmation, or both) *
Finally, we are bringing back monthly core team meetings and we want you to tell us what you hope to get from them! Do you enjoy planning meetings? Do you want to know what the next couple of weeks of Lifeteen will hold so you can plan ahead? Do you want to pray together before the Blessed Sacrament? Please tell us what you're hoping to get from these meetings. 

Some of these will also be socials. If you have an idea of a fun social event, feel free to suggest it.

I have reviewed the Core team expectations, Lifeteen dates and what it means to be a core member pages (that are attached to the email) and I feel confident that I can do my best to live up to these and make the most of the experience.  *
