RAD (officially re-labeled by the REC Foundation as the Aerial Drone Competition) is an exciting challenge presented in the form of a game. This year a lot of exciting changes were made: there are now 3 Missions!
- Teamwork Mission - This is the usual setup where you have 2 alliances fly around the (now) 20'x20' field to score as many points as possible, while navigating obstacles along the way.
- Autonomous Flight Skills Mission - This is now a separate field where students fly their programmed drones autonomously
- Piloting Skills Mission - This shares the same field with the Autonomous Flight Skills Mission, but students pilot their drones through an obstacle course.
RAD fosters student development through teamwork, critical thinking, project management, and communication skills required to prepare them to become the next generation of innovators and problem solvers.
- Registration is open to Caledonia students in 7th-12th grade through November 5.
- A $50 participation fee will be required before registration is official
