Auditions: CANDIDE
The Juneau Symphony and the Juneau Lyric Opera will present a concert version of Leonard Bernstein's Candide October 21 & 22, 2023 at the Juneau Douglas High School Auditorium. 

Auditions for principal roles will be held Monday, February 27 and Tuesday, February 28 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Holy Trinity Church (4th and Gold Street). Please prepare an aria or song in English that best displays your voice and range. Selections from the show are encouraged but not required. 

Music rehearsals will begin in the fall; however, vocal coachings will be scheduled leading up to rehearsals. Principals will memorize their music and spoken lines for the production to allow for movement/suggested staging. 

The Juneau Symphony Chorus will serve as the chorus for the show. The JS Chorus will begin rehearsals this summer (exact dates TBD), and the non-audition chorus is open to all!  Chorus will not be required to memorize the music. Small speaking or singing roles may be selected from the chorus members.
