Town Hall: Race at the University of Chicago Description and Registration December 3rd 6pm virtual
Please fill out this form if you'd like to attend and participate in a town hall on race at the University of Chicago. This is an opportunity to check in with our student community and hear:
How they have (or haven't) experienced learning about race in Uchicago classes?
What their experiences are as racial minorities in our academic community and the composition of our academic body?
What concerns students have around issues of race on campus and in the south side community surrounding campus?
What hopes students have for how the university will engage with topics/issues of race in the future?
We see this event as a starting point to begin a deeper investigation into how Uchicago does and does not meet the needs of its community's learning experiences and how we can improve. We plan to follow this event up with a focus group which town hall participants can volunteer to be a part of. From the focus group we, the Race and Pedagogy Working group, will create a report with a set of recommendations for University of Chicago faculty and administrators.
Please fill out the form below to participate and or attend the town hall. You can also use this form to sign up to become more deeply involved with this project going forward if you'd like.
The questions presented here are optional, but will be used to direct discussions in the town hall. We will email your response back to you so you can recall your responses at the meeting and bring attention to topics that are important to you. (be sure to check your spam folder) Each question has an "other" field so you can add comments if you like.
