International Program Code of Conduct

I agree, as a participant in the International Program for USA Working Equitation (USAWE), to abide by this Code of Conduct. I recognize that even the appearance of misconduct or impropriety can be very damaging to the reputation and integrity of USAWE and the sport of Working Equitation and will act accordingly.

I agree to:

  • Represent USAWE with honesty, integrity, and with upmost decorum. 

  • Follow the U.S. Rules for Working Equitation and WAWE when competing internationally.

  • Interact with show managers, show staff, competitors, and the general public in a responsible, respectful, and professional manner. Maintain a positive, collaborative, and helpful attitude.

  • I understand that education is an important component of the USAWE mission and as a participant in the International Program (IP) I am an ambassador for the IP and USAWE and will engage with USAWE members accordingly. 

  • Attend training/education events, participate in team meetings and fundraising events.

  • Personally thank sponsors in writing and in-person when possible. 

  • Perform my role as an ambassador for the sport of Working Equitation as well as for USAWE, whether competing, attending clinics for continuing education, or as a spectator.

  • Dress appropriately and professionally for all IP events and competitions. 

  • I understand that failure to comply with the International Program Code of Conduct is grounds for disciplinary review and potential removal from the IP.

Agreement Regarding Image and Likeness Usage Rights

I hereby grant to USAWE and the International Program all rights to use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable-casts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of participation in any capacity within the International Program for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the International Program and/or USAWE as educational and/or promotional material. Those likenesses shall not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, copyright, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to
misappropriation. I further agree to bind my principals, representatives, employees and agents to these same conditions for my participation, and warrant that I have full rights to bind myself and those who act on my behalf to these conditions.  I understand that agreement to these image and likeness usage rights are a condition and requirement of my participation in the International Program, and cannot be rescinded.
