HA Masters Tournament Official Survey 2022
At the beginning of 2022 members of the Masters community participated in a survey which led to the establishment of the 'One Masters' brand for which the tenets are  Passion, Participation, Performance, and Partnerships.

The survey respondents raised concerns around the delivery of our National Championships.

A project brief was developed to examine the current event delivery model in terms of scheduling during the year, format, bundling of age competitions and duration of the events.

The project is seeking opinions and suggestions from 2022 Championship participants and this survey will form an important part of the process.

Q14: World Masters Hockey (WMH) schedules all Indoor and Outdoor World Cups.  The Indoor World Cups will usually be held in February/March and Outdoor World Cups later in the year.  The World Cups are divided into 4 different events by age e.g. 35+/40+,  45+/50+, 55+/60+, 65+.  WMH is encouraging National Associations such as Australia to enter 2 teams in each age group (Australian team plus Spirit of Masters team (B team) in each age group).  Occasionally there will be a clash of dates between one of the 4 World Cups and our National Championships.  How should HAMC deal with this?  Rank the following solutions 1-5 with 5 being your favourite. *

Q15: In 2022 the Championships were played in Cairns which is a two pitch venue resulting in a 10 day event with some matches being played in the afternoon and evening of the last training day i.e. a total of 11 days.  It is expected that in future the Championships will be held in geographical locations that have a minimum of 3 pitches available enabling the schedule to be completed in 9 days.  When considering your responses to this question, please note that a shorter event (8 days) means that players will have to play on 4 consecutive days without a rest day.  Rank the following from 1-6 with 6 being the most suitable length of the event.  *

Q16: In 2022 every attempt was made to introduce an Over 70 competition.  As there were insufficient Over 70 players across Australia who wished to compete in a National Championship, this was not possible and an Over 65, Division 2 was created.  Did you officiate the Over 65 Div 2 competition? *
If Yes, comment on this competition:
Your views are sought in relation to other events if you can spare the time to answer a further 7 short questions (about 4 minutes).  This will add to our knowledge of what masters players really want.  Your time is truly appreciated.  If you don't have time, we thank you for participating in this survey relating to National Championships.
