Deeper Learning Ed Camp 2024 Application

Welcome, Campers! Thank you for your interest in Deeper Learning Ed Camp 2024 -- an off-the-grid summer camp for school-based educators seeking inspiration, rejuvenation, and connection with like-minded colleagues from around the country who believe in the power of deeper learning for students. Hosted by DLD, the folks who lead Deeper Learning work at Harvard, Deeper Learning Ed Camp is four days of immersive experiences, workshops, and small-group deep dives into tricky problems related to innovative pedagogy and school design. The purpose of Deeper Learning Ed Camp is to ignite a movement of educators who have the motivation and skills to lead deeper learning experiences in their classrooms and beyond.

At Deeper Learning Ed Camp, participants will be organized into strands to focus their work. In which ONE of the following three strands are you interested in participating?

(1) Curriculum-Building. Participants in this strand will come to camp with an idea related to their classroom practice. While at camp, they will engage with a mix of experiences to advance their thinking about innovative pedagogy.

(2) Systems-Building. Participants in this strand will come to camp with an idea related to designing or redesigning an aspect of their school model. While at camp, they will engage with a mix of experiences designed to advance their thinking about leadership for innovative learning.

(3) Movement-Building. Participants in this strand will come to camp with an idea related to shifting the mindset of their schools, districts, or communities. While at camp, they will engage with various experiences designed to advance their thinking about initiating change and building momentum.

Why are you interested in participating in the strand you selected above?

Organized by context or role, Deeper Learning Ed Campers will meet daily in groups of 8-12 from their strand to share best practices, offer feedback on ideas, and support each other as they build out their project plan. These “Pods” will be facilitated by members of the DLD team or experienced practitioners and will be the primary place where project plans are developed. Deeper Learning Ed Campers are encouraged to attend with a specific project in mind, so that you leave the experience with a practical plan to support your work in the fall.
