Thanksgiving Dinner Sponsor Sign Up

We're proud to hold our THIRD ANNUAL Thanksgiving Sponsorship program made possible by Sponsors like YOU! Learning that many of our neighbors could not afford a holiday meal in 2020 is what created 92130 Cares. Last year, 92130 Cares provided 120 Thanksgiving meals to their neighbors in the community, including those who live in the over 1000 low-income housing units in 92130.

This year, we will continue our program in order to alleviate some of the financial burden associated with Thanksgiving dinner and to continue to build meaningful community connections.

This year we will offer two sponsorship opportunities:

1. Donate to our Turkey Day Fund (*tax deductible receipt provided). We will use your donated funds to purchase and distribute a gift card or groceries to a Recipient Family. We know this is a busy time for Sponsors who may want to take part in the program, but might not have the time to sponsor a family directly. 2. Direct Sponsorship (*tax rules prohibit us from providing tax deductible receipt for a direct sponsorship). You will be able to choose your Recipient and provide a holiday meal directly for the Recipient’s household. This support will be in the way that the Recipient finds most helpful. Depending on the circumstances of the Recipient, this may be a pre-cooked meal, a gift card to a local restaurant or grocery store or groceries for them to make their own meal. You can choose your Recipient based on their preference (e.g. if they prefer a gift card) or family size. As a guideline, groceries for a traditional holiday meal for a family of 4 costs around $90-$100.

If you are interested in Sponsoring a local family, please fill out the information below and we will send an email the first week of November!  Sponsors will choose their Recipients from an anonymous list showing how many people in the Recipient’s household, any food restrictions and other information the Recipient wishes to provide.

All information provided will remain confidential and will not be shared for any purpose outside 92130 Cares.
