Eens in de zoveel tijd reikt Lulofs de Lulofsmedaille uit aan leden die een uitzonderlijke staat van dienst hebben op het gebied van de fysische geografie. Via dit online formulier kunnen leden suggesties voor geschikte kandidaten doen voor de jury.

Een kandidaat voor de Lulofsmedaille voldoet aan het volgende profiel:

• Alumnus van de opleidingen Fysische Geografie, Aardwetenschappen, Earth Sciences of Future Planet Studies van de Universiteit van Amsterdam

Daarbij moet de kandidaat op twee van de drie hieronder genoemde punten bovengemiddeld scoren:

• Moet een bovengemiddelde bijdrage hebben geleverd aan het onderzoek in de Fysische Geografie of Aardwetenschappen in het algemeen of onderdelen daarvan of een bovengemiddelde maatschappelijke bijdrage vanuit de Fysische Geografie hebben geleverd.

• Moet een bovengemiddelde bijdrage hebben geleverd aan de ontwikkeling van het onderwijs in de Aardwetenschappen of Fysische Geografie

• Moet een bovengemiddelde bijdrage hebben geleverd aan het breder bekendmaken van het bovengenoemde vakgebied aan een groter publiek.

Once in a while Lulofs awards the Lulofs Medal to a member that made an exceptional contribution to the field of physical geography. Via this questionnaire members can make suggestions of suitable candidates for the committee.

A candidate for the Lulofs Medal fits the following profile:

• Is an University of Amsterdam Physical Geography, Earth Sciences or Future Planet Studies alumnus.

The candidate also needs to score above average on two out of three of the points listed here:

• Contributed above average to research in the field of Physical Geography or Earth Sciences in general, or in parts of it, or made an excellent social contribution from the field of Physical Geography

• Contributed above average to the development of education in the Earth Sciences or Physical Geography

• Contributed above average to communicating the Earth Sciences or Physical Geography to the general public
