Earth Day - Vigil for Creation

United Methodist Creation Justice Movement in partnership with United Women in Faith, Global Ministries, and General Board of Church and Society, invites you for a special Earth Day Vigil on April 22nd at First United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As we come together from all across the world for General Conference, we want to take a moment to be in community and acknowledge our interconnectedness, and reaffirm our commitment to environmental stewardship. This is an opportunity for fellowship, community-building and deepening our engagement as Methodists with issues of environmental justice.

All attendees of the General Conference, as well as residents of the Charlotte area, are warmly welcome to join us for this meaningful gathering. Whether you're a delegate or observer during General Conference or simply find yourself in Charlotte during this time, we extend our invitation to you. If you are not attending in person but will like to join us online, we will be streaming the vigil and you can register using this form as well.

Free parking after 5pm available at 163 W. 9th St, Charlotte, NC.

5:30pm-6:45pm - Free Vegetarian Dinner -Fellowship Hall, first come, first served

7pm - Vigil for Creation -, FUMC Sanctuary and Online

Global Ministries will host a free dinner from 5:30pm-6:45pm. The food will be vegetarian with a vegan option.

Doors to the Fellowship Hall will open at 5:30pm. Please indicate below if you wish to attend to help us decide how much food to buy. The meal will be first come, first served.
