The intersection of Orleans Street and Marginal Street is extremely busy and has been a concern to the neighborhood for quite some time. Many families with small children live in the area. There is a lot of foot traffic at this intersection as people make their way to the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway and Piers Park. With the new developments in the area, this foot traffic is expected to increase.

We petition that the City expedite the study of this intersection and implement one or more of the following traffic calming measures:

·       Make an all-way stop at Orleans & Marginal (currently there is only a stop sign going in one direction)

·       Install Speed Bumps approaching this intersection

·       Implement Crosswalk lights that blink when someone is in the crosswalk.
