The Burke County Public Library is excited to kick-off Summer Reading Program 2023 with our first annual Kick-Off to Summer Party on Monday, June 12th! The event will be held on the Burke County Courthouse Square from 5-8pm. We are excited to invite any and all local organizations and businesses to apply to set up a table/tent, advertise their summer offerings, play and connect with our community at this event! The library will be providing Summer Reading Program information, games, entertainment, and facilitating the event.
All tables/booths should be prepared to either provide a giveaway or game/activity for the community. These can be geared toward any age group (there will be something for everyone)! These can be anything from promotional items to giveaway, to games set up in your booth, to face painting or crafts for kids.
This event is free and open to the public, sales will not be permitted beyond registration fees for summer camps, etc.,. Please note in your application what you will be bringing to the event, and any accommodations you may need! We have a limited number of tables/chairs for those organizations who cannot bring their own, and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note on your application if you will need a table provided, electrical outlet access, or any other accommodations.
Details are still being finalized for performers, all participants will receive information on the schedule of events and itinerary as soon as it becomes available!
