JUNK FOOD: GARBAGE OR NOT?

Junk food isn't made up of garbage, but it is not good for your body. Junk food has lots of fat, sugar and salt, which makes It taste good. Many people like junk food and it's easy to eat a lot of it.

When you eat junk food, you are not giving the body the energy and vitamins it needs. Junk food can damage your heart and lungs and may lead to disease. Too much junk food can make you fat and give your skin a poor colour. The sugar in junk food damages your teeth and can cause cavities. When you eat lots of junk food, it can cause a stomach ache and you get tired quickly. It's not the answer when we are hungry and need something to give us energy.

When at the supermarket, try not to buy packets of crisps and cans of soda. Instead, choose cartons of milk or orange juice and snacks like bananas or some cheese. Milk, meat, spaghetti, fruit and vegetables all give your body the nutrients It needs to grow and have energy. Stay away from chocolate and sweets, as they only give the body sugar and quick energy that does not last long.

It's important to eat lots of fruit and vegetables and not too much junk food each day. You need to make smart choices when looking for snack. Throw away the junk food and eat healthily!
