About the Speaker
Steven Okun
CEO, APAC
Advisors and Senior Advisor, McLarty Associates
The Founder
and CEO of APAC Advisors as well as a Senior Advisor to global strategic
consultancy McLarty Associates, and from his time in the Clinton Administration
through today, Steven has been involved in at the nexus of business and government
in the Asia Pacific region.
This year,
he serves as Chair of the AmChams of Asia Pacific, the umbrella organization of
the 25 American Chambers of Commerce in the region.
From
1988-2000, he worked on the primary and presidential campaigns of Democratic
candidates, in addition to having worked at the Democratic National Conventions
of 1988, 1996 and 2000.
A
sought-after expert, he speaks often at universities, conferences, and
businesses across the region.
A frequent
commentator in regional and global media, including CNBC and Channel NewsAsia,
he authors commentary for The Straits Times, including a monthly column during
the 2020 US Presidential campaign, as well as for Business Times, Channel
NewsAsia and Asia Times. He appears weekly on Singapore MONEY FM’s
International News Review and is the guest commentator for their Washington
Report.
He received
his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the University of
Virginia School of Law.
