FCPS pays very little of MHS Athletic costs; mainly transportation, security, stipends and allowances for equipment re-conditioning. Booster fundraising makes up the difference.

MHS Athletic Boosters spends tens of thousands a year supporting McLean HS Athletics – paying for expenses such as the stadium's electronic scoreboard, turf field, a renovated weight room, a new wrestling mat, Bermuda grass on the baseball field, softball fence, coaches’ clinics, sports safety equipment, and field maintenance, just to name a few!
