Hello and thank you for your interest in volunteering with Camp Erin Boston! This application will take about 10 minutes to complete.

Camp Erin Boston will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021(rain date Sunday, August 22, 2021) in Middleboro, MA. In response to COVID-19, Camp Erin's priority has been the safety and well-being of campers, families, volunteers and staff. Camp Erin now supports campers through virtual camps, day camps, and care packages.

Descriptions of Volunteer Roles:

*The number of volunteers needed for each role (listed on the right of each role).

Big Buddies (30 positions): Work one-on-one with an assigned camper. Onsite for Ice Cream Social (Sunday, July 25, 2021), all day Saturday, August 21, 2021 with availability for rain date Sunday, August 22, 2021if needed.
 
Cabin Buddies (6-8 positions): Are assigned a specific group.  Introduces and assists with group activities, relieves Big Buddies at their break times, available as general support during Camp day.  Onsite for Ice Cream Social (Sunday, July 25. 2021), entire Camp Weekend (Camp in Middleboro, MA).
 
Grief Counselors (6-8 positions): Are typically Licensed Counselors, Social Workers, RNs, Psychologists, etc. – are assigned a specific group. Facilitate bereavement activities and provide bereavement support to campers and families.  Onsite for Ice Cream Social (Sunday, July 25, 2021), entire Camp Weekend (Camp in Middleboro, MA).

Nurses (4 positions): Registered Nurses to staff the health center at camp, provide first aid as needed. Administer prescribed medications as needed. Oversee health and safety recommendations. Available on-site for Camp weekend in Middleboro, MA.

Photographers (2 positions): Onsite for Ice Cream Social (Sunday, July 25, 2021), entire Camp Weekend (Camp in Middleboro, MA), AND required to edit photographs, upload photographs, and create slideshows. Time requirements can be split between multiple photographers.

Singers (4 positions): Required on Saturday August 22, 2021 at Camp in Middleboro, MA to rehearse, and perform remembrance song during Saturday evening luminary ceremony. Required to meet with singing team to learn and rehearse song prior to camp day.
 
On-Site Support Volunteers (15-20 positions):  Provide onsite support to Camp Erin.  May lead activities, assist with coverage for Buddies' breaks, run errands or provide help and support to Camp Staff. Onsite for Ice Cream Social (Sunday, July 25, 2021) and camp Saturday, August 21 with availability for rain date, Sunday August 22, 2021.
 
Off-Site Support Volunteers - Assist at different times of the year with donations, office work, securing supplies, mailings, etc.

Support Volunteers may also assist at different Camp Erin events such as Ice Cream Social, Reunion, Trainings, securing in-kind donations, etc.


VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
               
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be high school graduates.
Have reliable transportation to and from all required events (Some volunteers will carpool).
Complete a background check (CORI, SORI).
Agree to respect all health and safety guidelines.
Complete a 30 minute interview. (new volunteers only)
Complete a 2 hour online training program.
