2021-2022 Los Angeles County Superintendent of the Year
The Los Angeles County Office of Education will be presenting the Los Angeles County Superintendent of the Year award. This program pays tribute to the talent and vision of those who lead our school districts. The honor is designed to provide much-deserved recognition for Superintendents. Honorees are chosen based on their leadership for learning, excellence in communication, professionalism and dedicated community involvement.

Superintendents of the county's 80 County district with at least three years of service and who meet the criteria below are qualified.

Process
SELECTION CRITERIA:

The Superintendent of the Year recognition program is open to all superintendents in the 80 Los Angeles County districts with at least three years of service and who meet the following criteria:

Leadership for Learning – creativity in successfully meeting the needs of students and families in their district.

Communication – strength in both organizational and personal communication.

Professionalism – commitment to improving knowledge and skills and providing professional development opportunities to administrative, instructional and support staff.

Community Involvement – active participation in community activities and demonstrated leadership in improving local, regional and national issues.

Commitment to Equity - leadership in providing appropriate supports to enable students to learn, grow, excel and thrive with active engagement from staff, parents and community.

 
NOMINATION PROCEDURE:

If you wish to nominate a District Superintendent, please submit the Nomination Form by Friday, August 13th, 2021, so that the nominee can be notified in a timely manner.


NOMINEE INSTRUCTIONS:

Nominated Superintendents will be notified and asked if they wish to participate and accept the nomination.

 
SELECTION PROCESS:

A selection panel will review the written applications and select the Superintendent of the Year. Only one will be selected. The panel’s decision will be based on the applications submitted.
