PURPOSE: WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Reconnect for Resilience™ offers simple language to explain how trauma affects the brain and the nervous system and introduces a set of practical strategies to promote resilience. The training teaches seven tools for people to use during stressful times in their lives. The tools are for anyone to use during hard times, no matter what their age or level of education. Science shows us that stress can lead to chronic sickness in our bodies, like high blood pressure, diabetes, and weight gain. We want to teach others how to work with our brains to get us back in our Balance Zone during hard times.

COST: NONE
This 2-day intensive training usually costs $295, and is being offered for free through support from the Rural Opportunity Institute and Area L AHEC.

Due to funding restrictions, preference will be given to those who live/work in Edgecombe, Nash, Halifax, Northampton, and Wilson counties.

Example of how to answer the next two questions -

1)  I'm a middle school teacher and teach 4 classes per year that each have 25 students (so 4 x 25 = 100 per year). I estimate that 80% of my students are low-income......So you would enter 100 for question A and 80% for question B.

2)  I'm a juvenile court counselor and I have a caseload of 6 new kids per month (so 6 x 12= 72 per year). I estimate that 60% of the youth on my caseload are low-income......So you would enter 72 for question A and 60% for question B.

A) Estimate how many people you serve in one year?
B) Estimate what percentage of the people you serve qualify as low-income?
