In January 2007, publisher, Cherie Chillin Kabba made a promise to her African ancestors. "As I stood in Les Maison des Esclaves (The House of Slaves) --- on Goree Island; off the coast of Dakar, Senegal; West Africa -- and listened to the faint screams of my ancestors. I was inside of their first prison. I knew many would never see what I saw. I knew many would never feel what I felt. I whispered a promise to tell the stories of my ancestors to their children's children, and their children's children; so they would know of their trials and tribulations." Ten years after the visit, Jan. 15, 2017, The Soultown Magazine was born. Thank you for having SOUL!
