NRACT ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES
NRACT is excited to announce auditions for Southern Baptist Sissies by Del Shores.

Auditions are at North Raleigh Arts & Creative Theatre on Sunday and Monday, March 31 & April 1, 2024 at 7:00PM.
Callbacks are Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Rehearsals will begin the week of April 15, 2024
Production show dates are June 7-23, 2024. Fridays, Saturday, and Sundays.

About the Show:
Southern Baptist Sissies follows the journey of four gay boys in the Baptist Church. Storyteller Mark Lee Fuller tries to create a world of love and acceptance in the church and clubs of Dallas, Texas, while desperately trying to find a place to put his own pain and rage. The world Mark creates also includes two older barflies, Peanut and Odette, whose banter takes the audience from hysterical laughter to tragedy and tears.

About Auditions:
Please come prepared with a monologue provided or a monologue of your choice in the style of the show. (memorization optional). 
Also, come prepared to audition with cold readings from the script.

  • Mark Lee Fuller:  20's (Male Presenting) the sissy who thinks too much and dreams of a perfect world.
  • T.J. Brooks: 20's (Male Presenting) the masculine sissy who believes and clings tightly to God's Holy Word.
  • Andrew Thomas Ford: 20's (Male Presenting) the conflicted sissy who can't pray away the feelings.
  • Benny/Iona Traylor: 20's (Male Presenting/Drag Queen) The effeminate sissy who has escaped in a world of drag. 
  •  Odette Annette Barnett: 40's-50's (Female Presenting) a loudmouth bar fly with a sad secret.
  • Preacher: 40's-60's (Male Presenting) He preaches what he believes... hell, fire, and brimstone. 
  • Benny's Grandmother: (Female Presenting)  40's-60's Beyond Trailer Trash
  • Mark's Mother: (Female Presenting)  40's-60's Sweet and saccharine.
  • Andrew's Mother: (Female Presenting)  40's-60's Older, Worried, and Kind.
  • Stripper: (Male Presenting) The club go-go boy who has a ripped, beautiful body.
