“Oh no”, you say to yourself in panic. “How did I ignore this for so long?”. You are sitting at the kitchen table with your younger sister who needs help with her homework, and you realise you can’t help her. You had a complicated upbringing, and you and your sister have been in several foster homes all your lives. Now it is just you and your sister living together in Germany, and you, even as a young adult, were thrown into a parental role. You ask yourself: “How can I be a good parent? How can I give my little sister the support and education she deserves?”. She is enrolled now in a public school, but she has regular difficulties with her homework, and comes to you for guidance on how to complete certain tasks. You are feeling really down, because you didn’t get the education you needed when you were younger, and now you have realized that this is causing you issues. You want to help your little sister, and you’re embarrassed, because you have realized that you can not help her with her reading comprehension. You panic because you don’t want your little sister to find out that you can’t help.
