2024 Freedom Camp Counselor Volunteer Application Form
Thank you for your interest in Freedom Camp!  Here is key information for Camp:

Accepted Counselors will be asked to submit Live Scan Fingerprinting, Tuberculosis clearance, and Video (Details will be shared during meeting with Dr. Agredano)

In Person Training:  Saturday, 6/1/24, start time 9:00am, Please block your schedule Until 5:00 p.m.  Training will likely end earlier.  Location to be determined

Lead-In Sessions: Monday, June 10, 2024 – Friday, June 21, 2024 at 901 Campisi Way, Suite 245, Campbell, CA; Lead-in sessions are where you meet the camper(s) that you will be working with. Dr. Eckel will pair each counselor with 1 or 2 campers. While lead-in sessions take place over several days, please only plan on being available for 1 or 2 days. Each lead-in session can be about 4 hours in total. A few weeks prior to the lead-ins, we will ask for your availability.

Freedom Camp Dates/Hours for Counselors: Monday, June 24, 2024- Friday, June 28, 2024, 8 AM – 3:30 PM.
Counselors are to be present Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

I understand that if selected, I will need to complete Live Scan Fingerprinting. Cost of Live Scan is the responsibility of the volunteer applicant.  Here is information on the live scan. *
I understand that if selected, I will need to provide proof of Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.

There are at least 3 different ways to get Tb clearance: 1) The Tb Risk Assessment. can be completed by your medical provider, your student health center, a school nurse if you are completing a practicum at a school, 

2) The following two clinics provide free medical care: https://med.stanford.edu/cfc.html

3) CVS Minute Clinic also provides TB testing.   For CVS you do not need a specific form from Freedom Camp.

Applicant is responsible for any cost related to TB clearance.

My schedule has flexibility so that I can participate.

Camp Counselors create and manage a reward system, support the kids in small group, and large group settings through the tools and strategies learned in training. Counselors will also record information that will be provided to parents as feedback on their child’s experience at camp

Junior Camp Counselors set up and orchestrate craft activities and chaperone field trips at the Pruneyard Shopping Center.
