For all incoming RMS students who have already completed a minimum of one year of Concert Band and are interested in continuing their musical education for the 2022-2023 school year! Please know that Band is a year long commitment because it takes time and practice to develop our musical muscles and ensembleship skills.

Intermediate Band Instrument Switches & Secondary Instruments

Traditionally, students will continue developing skills on the instrument they played during their first year of Concert Band in order to continue their development of technical skills leading to more artistic playing and higher level repertoire.

However, in second year, some instruments are able to switch between similar instrument families now that students have grown a bit to accommodate some of the larger instruments. If your child is interested in one of these possible swaps please select from the following options. Please note that not all switch requests can be accommodated due to the number of instruments available from RMS.

Some students have discovered a great love of music this year and are keen to start learning a secondary instrument and re take Introductory Band. This option will be dependent on there being space available in Introductory Band next year.

If your student is interested in switching instruments not listed below, please send me a separate email so we can discuss this possibility.
