The Women in Economics and Business Society (WEBS) was formed in 2018 by three economics students as a response to the high drop-out rate of female students in business and economics majors at the University of Sydney. Intending to combat this, WEBS was founded with the intention of creating a safe space where female students can discuss their experiences and connect with industry alumni to fast-track their career progression.

WEBS hosts socials, mentoring programs, career panels and round-table events, while also regularly updating its members on career opportunities through its newsletter channel. Our network has grown from a small pool of Usyd alumni to a broad range of professionals from the likes of firms such as Lazard, Macquarie Bank, NERA Economics and Oxford Economics.
