What is CrochetForChnge?CrochetForChnge is a youth-owned and led nonprofit that focuses on bridging the gap between art and social justice. We provide a diverse network for youth to engage with advocacy and service work in different, more creative, capacities. We do this by:
- selling products online and in person (markets, small business collaborations, etc) and donating all profits to charitable organizations ($1500 so far!)
- hosting programs for youth to learn about social justice and volunteer in the art realm
- creating informational social media posts
- collaborating with non profits and small businesses to host events
- teaching grant writing and youth organizing skills
What does volunteering for CrochetForChnge look like?
As a CrochetForChnge volunteer, you would partake in 1/5 of our teams to work together to help our non-profit run. These teams each have their own specialties and there is something to learn from each one depending on where you feel you fit in best! CrochetForChnge is always looking to sponsor and promote youth success and growth, so we're always open to new ways for youth to challenge themselves and get involved! Here are the teams we offer:
Product Team
- Creating items to sell
- Working on orders
- Handmade item creation
Design Team
- Managing social media
- Website maintenance
- Graphics
- Appeal to an audience through aesthetics and efforts
Outreach Team
- Emails
- Dms
- Reaching out to businesses
- Applying for markets
- Getting involved in the community

Program Team
- Creating workshops
- Starting programs
- Working with the community to create engaging programs
- Create efforts that relate Crochet and social Justice
Sponsorship Team
- Money
- Secretary
- Write grants
- Apply for scholarship opportunities
What are we looking for?
ALL teens are allowed to apply!! We encourage everyone to get their voices heard and play a role in our organization. There is no baseline qualification, just passion!
Time Commitment
Depending on your team, there will be monthly ALL team check-ins and (potentially) biweekly team meetings depending on the leaders of each team.
