Police Department Internship Application
The Mayoral Internship Program (MIP) is designed to provide students with a passion for public service and community engagement with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience that benefits in their future career development. Interns are placed in various departments depending on their interests and department needs. Students with a passion for law enforcement or criminal justice have the opportunity to work within the Cumberland Police Department.

This is an eight-week unpaid internship . Interns are required to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week and to be available to work the duration of the internship period.

Qualifications for Police Internship:
Potential applicants must meet the following requirements:

- Be a current high school student has completed their sophomore year prior to June 2021.
- Students must be residents of Cumberland, Rhode Island.
- Possess an interest in law enforcement or criminal justice.
- Students should be eager, curious, and flexible.
- Students must fill out a completed application by 2pm on May 17th. Late submissions will not be accepted.
