In order to attend the S.E.A.L. Program, a parent or legal guardian must agree to the terms of this contract.
I understand that my participation in the S.E.A.L. Program is voluntary (unless I am court ordered to attend) and is at the recommendation of
the administrators of my home school. I understand that my satisfactory participation in the S.E.A.L. Program will not count as absences. Additionally, I understand that this contract is being offered as an alternative to out-of-school suspension and that enrollment and continued
participation is contingent upon the following terms:
1. You must work consistently to complete all assignments sent by your teachers. You are responsible for all the work missed at your home
school. S.E.A.L. staff will assist in contacting principals/teachers if needed. You should come to school with all of your books and materials
to help you complete your assignments.
2. All cell phones, iPods, iPads, MP3 players, tablets, Bluetooth Speakers, and other electronic equipment and/or devices must be turned
in to S.E.A.L. staff at the beginning of the day. They will be returned to you at the end of the day.
3. You must follow all school board, school, and classroom rules and policies. You will not abuse, misuse, or vandalize school property.
4. You must be cooperative with all S.E.A.L. and Ray Street Academy staff members and follow directions as given.
5. You must not display any non-compliant, argumentative, disrespectful, or disruptive behavior which includes: a. Talking during classwork time
b. Profanity
c. Aggressive behavior; either physical or verbal
d. Threats to any staff members or students
e. Arguing with S.E.A.L. or Ray Street Staff Members
f. Sleeping or resting your head on your desk during class work time.
6. You must follow the ABSS dress code, which is in part as follows: “No clothing may be worn which is PROVOCATIVE, revealing, profane,
vulgar [lewd] or obscene; which endangers the health or safety of the student or others; or which might reasonably BE EXPECTED TO
CAUSE SUBSTANTIAL DISRUPTION OR MATERIAL INTERFERENCE WITH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES…and ANY SYMBOLS, styles or
attire associated with intimidation.”
7. Computer use is a privilege, not a right. Unless you have school work you will not be issued a computer or allowed to use your own during
classwork time. Computers may not be used for any social media or instant messaging of any type, for watching movies, for playing
games, or for any purpose other than assigned school work.
8. You must not possess weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, tobacco products or tobacco paraphernalia. You may not take
or carry any kind of medication while on school property.
I understand that my participation in the S.E.A.L. Program is voluntary (unless I am court ordered to be in S.E.A.L.). I also understand that
failure to comply with any of the above rules will result in the loss of the privilege to attend S.E.A.L. for the remainder of my suspension.
