Biotech Bootcamp Grants for Latinx students and future biotech scientists
Apply for grants supporting and promoting future scientists with Latinx or Hispanic heritage to explore Biotech skills and careers. Please fill out the following information by June 30, 2021. We will be offering 5 grants to cover the full cost of the Biotech Bootcamp.

Molecular biologists have been some of the unsung heroes of the current pandemic - working non-stop developing COVID-19 tests and vaccines so we can all get back to our classrooms.  In this week-long camp you will get a chance to utilize some basic molecular biology tools used in biotech to observe and measure cells, viruses, proteins and DNA. We will provide a laboratory kit with safe supplies to run experiments in your home and we will collaborate just like scientists have done during the past year - over Zoom.  There will also be online guest scientists who will give us a glimpse of life in a biotech lab. This camp is facilitated by a Las Positas faculty with over 16 years of online teaching experience.

Qualified recipients will be selected by lottery and notified the first week of July.
