History:
Germantown Community Alliance (GCA) is a nonprofit organized by community residents alarmed by development activities that have shuttered Germantown High and other community schools, removed affordable housing units, and displaced low-income residents.

Purpose:
GCA was formed as a membership organization to engage in community planning and development and work with developers to design and enforce Community Benefits Agreements that preserve and expand affordable housing, recreation, community service, and advance educational and economic opportunities within the community.

Membership:
Voting membership is open to adults who reside within or are members of a community organization in Germantown, support GCA’s purpose and contribute annual dues. Members serve on GCA committees and nominate and elect the Board.

Membership Application:
I am at least 18 years old and I am interested in having a voice in what happens in our community, especially in preserving and expanding affordable housing; and advancing education, recreation, employment, and business opportunities in Germantown.
