Fryeburg Academy honors an alumnus/alumna each year through the Distinguished Alumni Award. This award honors those alums who have rendered meritorious service to the school and/or community. Nominations are taken from the FA alumni base. A committee will review all nominations and name the recipient at the annual FA Alumni Banquet held during Reunion Weekend.

The following general standards of eligibility apply:


-The Award may be given only to an alumnus or alumna of Fryeburg Academy who has rendered meritorious service to his/her community, the nation, his/her school, or who has achieved outstanding distinction in his/her profession or business as may seem sufficient to entitle this person to the honor.
-For purposes of determining eligibility, an alumnus or alumna is any person who has been graduated or has attended Fryeburg Academy at least one semester.
-“Meritorious service” is defined as unusual service and in the case of his/her school, assistance directly in expanding the usefulness, influence, and prestige of Fryeburg Academy. (All alums are expected to be of service in promoting the welfare of the school and such customary service as assignment to committees is not to be construed as “meritorious service.”) Achievements in the professions and in business can be considered broadly.


IMPORTANT: Strict confidentiality is maintained throughout this nomination process. Please send as much supplemental material about your nominee as possible. A resume/curriculum vita, newspaper articles about the nominee, commendations, honors received, and any other information you have will be most helpful. Although supplemental material is NOT necessary, it assists the committee in obtaining a more complete picture of the nominee.

NOMINATION DEADLINE: April 15, 2024
