Peer-review opportunity
Dietitians Australia is looking for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to peer-review content for the health advice section for our public website.

Research in 2021 revealed that our website visitors are looking for detailed nutrition advice. This includes general advice on health eating, as well as specific diet and lifestyle topics.

With thanks to our Interest Groups and other experts we have witten health advice on a range of topics.

To ensure our content is evidence-based and uses the latest scientific information, we are seeking independent peer-reviewers to participate in a final review of the content.  

More topics will be added to the list below as the content is created. Topics will be removed from the list as the peer-reviewer positions are filled.

Eligibility criteria
We’re looking for peer-reviewers who have either 5 years’ experience on the topic OR are Advanced APDs.
Please provide a summary of your experience and expertise as it relates to the topic/s you have selected above. Don't forget to address each topic if you have selected more than one page to review. *
Agreement to act as a peer reviewer
Before agreeing to act as a peer reviewer, please ensure that you have the expertise required to review the content. The peer review process is essential to the health advice pages on the new public website as it ensure the quality of the content provided to consumers.

We’ll be asking reviewers to comment on accuracy, as well as appropriateness of the advice and external resources. We will not be expecting comments on grammar and style. Comments on language and accessibility may be required for topics targeting certain audiences. More details will be provided to the successful reviewers.
 
Time commitment

Each health advice topic page is around 500 to 1000 words and takes approximately 5 minutes to read. We anticipate the time required to review and provide feedback on the content would be around one hour.

To ensure the website meets its publication milestones, the turnaround time frame for peer-review feedback will be 10 business days from supply of the content.
 
If you need more time, please discuss this at the time of acceptance or as potential delays arise. If you are unable to complete the review, please let us know as soon as possible. There are no negative consequences for refusing to review the content.
Conflict of interest
If you believe you have a conflict of interest in reviewing the content, please discuss potential conflicts with the Content Manager.
Confidentiality and copyright
Content provided to you for review is confidential and remains the copyright of Dietitians Australia. The content should not be distributed in any way and no details about the content should be discussed with anyone except with the Content Manager.

After you have completed the peer review process, we ask that you carefully dispose of the content; this includes deleting any soft copy from electronic storage systems such as email, computer hard drives or network servers.

Selection and acknowledgment of peer-reviewers
Peer-reviewers will be selected based on their experience and expertise of their chosen topics.

Peer-reviewers will be acknowledged with an appreciation certificate and a note on their Dietitians Australia service record. It may also count as CPD if it aligns with learning goals.
