Oldschool Metal can encapsulate any sub-genre where the following fundamental components apply: dominated by groove and traditional song-writing values; dominated by retro tones and techniques; dominated by non-guttural/screamed vocal styles.  The definition of Oldschool is not limited to or restricted by these fundamentals. (includes all derivatives of Heavy Metal, Glam, Doom Metal, Psychedelic, some derivatives of Thrash metal, etc)
