The following several questions will be regarding your willingness to host a refugee. Other methods for helping the refugee situation are included later in this survey. If you are not able or willing to host (a) refugee(s), please select "no" on the next question and feel free to leave the other questions regarding housing them blank, although please still provide us with your zip code. Currently, the United States Federal Government is not allowing Ukrainian refugees into America. The State of Utah, on the other hand, is pushing for the welcoming of refugees and if things change at the federal level, Utah is very likely to become one of the major resettlement areas for Ukrainian refugees in the United States. On the other hand, there are many Ukrainians with still-valid visas to America that have begun to come to Utah (and other places). Most of these individuals either have family (most common) or friends in America, but not all of them, and not in every situation where they do have contacts are those contacts able to support them. These individuals are coming to America mostly on tourist visas, meaning their rights are extremely limited and ability to access state resources are pretty much non-existent. Only Ukrainians who were in the United States prior to the 1st of March 2022 are able to file for Temporary Protected Status, and this is a process.
