Join the ANTCON Crew and Help Power Real Change

ANTCON is more than just a fun weekend. It is a celebration of the antkeeping community and a vital fundraiser for the Ant Antics Foundation, our not-for-profit division dedicated to conservation, education, and providing free ant colonies to schools across the UK.

By volunteering your time, you are directly helping us keep the Foundation alive and growing. Your support allows us to run a smooth event which in turn helps us reach more classrooms, fund critical conservation work, and continue offering an unforgettable experience for the antkeeping world. Whether you are helping in the Snaps Factory, welcoming guests, or replacing bins before they overflow, every small act contributes to a much larger purpose.

Volunteering is flexible and rewarding. While spaces are limited and we may not be able to accept everyone depending on numbers and event needs, we would love to hear from you if you would like to be part of the team behind the scenes.

🐜 Volunteer Guidelines – ANTCON 2025
  • Your time matters. We know you’re giving up your day to help make this special — we’ll always do our best to treat that with respect.

  • You don’t need to do everything. We’ll try to assign you to an area that suits your energy or interests. If you need a break, just let a team member know.

  • Please arrive on time. The flow of the event depends on everyone being in place when needed. We’ll give you a crew badge and quick briefing when you arrive.

  • Stay in uniform. If you’re wearing a crew T-shirt, hoodie or lanyard, please wear it during your shift so guests know who they can ask for help.

  • Keep it friendly. Our volunteers represent the spirit of ANTCON — we ask for kindness, patience, and a smile (even if it’s hot and you’re holding a bin liner).

  • We reserve the right to reassign or limit roles on the day depending on the needs of the event and your availability.

🐜 Volunteer Roles May Include:
  • Snaps Factory Assistant – Helping kids (and grown-ups!) make their own ant snaps using our signature recipe.

  • Guest Welcomer – Greeting guests at the door, helping with directions, and setting the tone for a great day.

  • Event Support – Helping keep spaces tidy, replacing bins when needed, restocking handouts or leaflets.

  • Engagement Floater – Chatting to guests, helping answer basic questions, and directing people to talks or zones.

  • Mini Crew Runner – Grabbing things from point A to B when the team is mid-flow. Quick thinkers and fast movers welcome.
