Applied Epi is a grassroots, nonprofit organization that is the leading provider of R training and support for the public health workforce. Our free
Epidemiologist R Handbook has been used over 2.7 million times by 750,000 people, and we have delivered synchronous R courses to 1,500 people at hundreds of health agencies including the US CDC, European CDC, Nigeria CDC, Doctors without Borders, WHO, national Ministries of Health, hundreds of district/local/county agencies, and Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs).

Introduction to R for Applied Epidemiology (if applicable to your package)
The curriculum outline is available in our brochure. The course uses practical, public health case studies to teach fundamental skills like data cleaning, error troubleshooting, and making plots, tables, and automated reports. Sessions include live coding demonstrations, lectures, interactive facilitated coding exercises, and unlimited 1-on-1 tutoring opportunities with instructors. There is approximately one instructor for each six participants. Prerequisites: Participants are required to be very comfortable using Microsoft Excel for cleaning and analysis, and to have exposure to statistical tools such as SPSS or EpiInfo. Experience with SAS, Stata, or Python is not required but will be beneficial. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please discuss with us.

Advanced courses in July
Each advanced course is two sessions of 3.5 hours each. Prerequisites: Participants are expected to either have graduated from the intro course, or otherwise be very comfortable using R for basic data cleaning and descriptive analysis, with familiarity with tidyverse functions including ggplot2 and piping approaches, and basic R Markdown.
