Interactive Food Tourism Application - D&G
Eat Southwest Scotland have been awarded a grant from the Tourism Leadership Fund for a project to develop food tourism in D&G. We have many fantastic food businesses in D&G and some of them have been very successful in offering tours and food experiences to tourists. Visitors are looking for experiences on holiday and are willing to pay significant sums to learn how food or drink is produced. They will almost always spend on the food and drink at the end of the trail as they are invested in the brand. It also drives online sales following the visit.

The project will help more D&G food and drink producers develop successful food experiences by creating regional food trails which are then featured on the D&G food and drink website.

We are looking for food businesses to be included in the trails who have already have a food experience or are willing to develop a food experience for the 2022 holiday season.

The food experience needs to be available to book online at least once a week from May to Sep and over the Easter and October half term holidays.

We will support each business by:
• Promoting it on the D&G food and drink website https://www.dgfoodanddrink.com/
• Significant Promotion on social media and PR.
• Shooting a promotional video for each business for use on the D&G food and drink website and the business’ website and social media
