Groundwork RVA: Green Team Spring 2019: Waitlist Only
Groundwork RVA performs conservation, landscaping, and conservation projects around Richmond. There will be 3 different sessions this school year (2018-2019). Each session will offer youth the opportunity to learn about: the environment and sustainability; the urban heat island effect; transit and transportation impacts; and how to use tools safely. Youth will also be able to: assist with scientific study; learn about and work on trail development; urban food systems; park cleanups and stewardship efforts. Green Team participants will also assist Groundwork RVA with a variety of other service projects.
The Spring Session will be focused on learning about the Urban Heat Effect, community organizing, and assisting Highland Park community members through the 'Our Folks' program with home repair and urban gardening.
WHEN: Every Tuesday and Thursday. Some Saturdays will be required. Times TBD.

Stipend: Each youth will receive a bike after assisting in a Bellemeade/Oakgrove Saturday Activity.
Each youth has the ability to make up to $200 at the completion of 36 hours of participation during the Spring Session. Stipend will be based on the hours of participation and will be awarded at the end of the session. Every 4.5 hours will receive $25 and all stipends will be distributed at the end of the program.
Eligibility: Youth must between the ages of 14-18 years old or currently enrolled in high school.
