We are pleased to invite you to participate in a Stakeholder and Policy Workshop on
Sustainable Urban Transport – a Way Forward in Ahmedabad on
September 14, 2022. This will be a full-day workshop at Ahmedabad University to disseminate findings from our project ‘Opportunities for Climate Mitigation and Sustainable Development (OPTIMISM)’. OPTIMISM is an international multi-stakeholder partnership and research network, funded by UKRI. Ahmedabad University’s component of the project has been supported by the Department of Bio-Technology (DBT, Govt. of India).
The aim of the workshop is to identify actionable strategies and bring together government organizations and transport experts to collectively work towards identifying challenges in decarbonizing urban transport and fostering sustainable mobility in Indian cities.Workshop Expectations:
● An overview of the OPTIMISM project, its process, partners, and key outputs
● Review of the existing mobility ecosystem and findings of scenario development for Surat and Udaipur
● Discuss urban transport challenges in India
● Discuss and scrutinize potential future pathways and policy recommendations
