UQ Boxing Club Sparring During COVID-19 Stage 3 Restrictions Agreement
This agreement is between:
UQ Sport Limited ACN 135 537 183 of Building 25, Union Road, St Lucia QLD 4067 “UQ Sport”
UQ Boxing Club of Building 25, Union Road, St Lucia QLD 4067   “Club”
and Name of Participant of Address of Participant “Participant”

This agreement is in addition to the UQ Sport Affiliated Club Participant Waiver (UQ Boxing Online Membership Form) which must be signed prior to this agreement.

In consideration for UQ Sport Ltd and the Club permitting the Participant to take part in activities organised by UQ Sport Ltd, and/or the Club (the “Activities”), or to use facilities and equipment owned or operated by UQ Sport Ltd and/or the Club, the Participant agrees with UQ Sport Ltd and the Club as set out below.

This agreement is intended to apply during Stage 3 COVID-19 restrictions as per the Queensland Government. Where the Queensland Government moves to a “Stage 4” or otherwise named more relaxed restrictions, this contract will be subject to review. Where the Queensland Government moves to Stage 1 or Stage 2 (i.e. more significant restrictions), this contract will be subject to review.

Sparring

1. The Participant acknowledges that this agreement is in addition to the UQ Sport Affiliated Club Participant Waiver, which must be signed by all participating members of the club.

2. The Participant agrees that when undertaking the activity of sparring, it must be done within the field of play during Stage 3 Restrictions as defined by the Queensland Government.

3. The Participant agrees to follow all directives as instructed by any executive committee member or coach of the Club.

4. The Participant agrees to follow all directives given as per UQ Boxing’s COVID-Safe plan, which aligns with that of the Queensland Government and Australian Institute of Sport Guidelines. Example directives as per UQ Boxing’s COVID-Safe plan include, but are not limited to:
   a. Sparring must be conducted within a defined field of play i.e. a boxing ring or a temporary boxing ring constructed of cones and other markers.
   b. Personal equipment cannot be left lying around in shared spaces.
   c. Mouthguards must be placed in their case when not in use.

5. Equipment used during sparring includes, but is not limited to, appropriately weighted sparring gloves (i.e. 16 oz for men and 12-14 oz for women), headgear and mouthguard.

6. The Participant agrees to bring and use their own equipment and take appropriate care of equipment as per UQ Boxing’s COVID-Safe plan, which aligns with that of the Queensland Government and Australian Institute of Sport Guidelines.

7. Where the Participant does not have their own gloves or headgear, the Club is willing to loan appropriately weighted sparring gloves (i.e. 16 oz for men and 12-14 oz for women) and/or headgear. The loan is a short term loan lasting until Sunday 1st of November 2020. See Loan of Equipment for further details.

8. Failure to follow directives or instructions from any executive committee member or coach of the Club may result in the loss of the privilege to spar during Stage 3 restrictions. In the case of repeated offences including disregarding of rules and guidelines or any other disruptive behaviour, the Club has reserves the right to take an appropriate course of action to mitigate or prevent this behaviour.

Nothing in this Agreement is intended to exclude or limit the Participant’s rights under any law that cannot be excluded or limited and this Agreement is to be read and construed accordingly.
