Students are expected to abide by the Tipp City Exempted Village Schools’ Student Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Students must acknowledge that any issued device is the property of Tipp City Exempted Village School District and therefore must abide by the following terms:
* This device is to enhance student learning, is for educational purposes only, and is to only be used by the student it is issued to by Tipp City Exempted Village Schools. It will not be loaned to other individuals.
* In the event that the device is to be left unattended, it is the responsibility of the student and/or parent to safely secure the device to prevent theft or misuse by others. The student and parent expressly understand, acknowledge, and agree that they shall be responsible for replacing the device in the event of theft or loss.
* Neither students nor parents/guardians have any right to privacy of any materials or information saved on this device, sent or received by this device, or residing in a district-provided system or service.
* Students will make the district device available to any school administrator or teacher for inspection upon request.
Students will immediately report to the building administration or teacher if their device is lost or any incidents of inappropriate communications sent or received in any form using their Tipp City Exempted Village School District-owned technology.
* Students will ensure the device is fully charged for each school day and will not deface the device or create markings that cannot be completely removed by the student when returning the device.
* The device will be returned by the student when requested by the school district. If a student leaves/withdraws from Tipp City Exempted Village Schools it is the responsibility of the student/parent to return the device. If the student/parent does not return the device when they withdraw from the Tipp City Exempted Village School District, the student/parent will be charged the replacement cost for the device.
* In the event the device breaks or is not functioning properly, there will be no attempt by the student or parent to fix or repair it.
* There should be no attempt to add, delete, access, or modify any applications, security configurations, software or hardware components on any school-owned computer.
* The Parent/Guardian of the student issued the device is financially responsible if the student loses the device or for damage the district determines is caused by abuse or neglect.
* The District is not responsible for any malicious code/viruses that may be transferred to or from the device or inappropriate use of the device.
* When requested by the district, i.e. at the end of the school year, the device and power cord will be returned in good, working condition.
