Would you be interested in serving as a parent member of Walnut's School Site Council next year?  Site Council is made up of parents, teachers, and other staff members who join the principal in setting goals, monitoring progress, and discussing budget items for our school.  Members commit to a 1-year term but may serve up to 3 years.  Meetings will be held from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.  At this point, we are planning to continue to meet on Zoom to provide more access for members.  Members will be confirmed with a vote.

Walnut also needs a parent representative for the District Advisory Council.  Each CVUSD school has one DAC member who attends monthly meetings (9-11:30 a.m.) with District leadership.  You would represent Walnut and report back to our Site Council.  Past representatives have said that these meetings are very interesting and a great way to understand what is happening in CVUSD as a whole, TK through high school.  

If your child receives services through an IEP or 504 Plan, you are eligible to serve as Walnut's Special Education District Advisory Board (SEDAC) representative.  Similar to the DAC representative, you would attend monthly meetings on a Tuesday morning to meet with district leadership and SEDAC representatives from the other CVUSD schools.  Walnut's SEDAC member represents Walnut and also reports back to our School Site Council.

If your child is an English Language Learner, you are eligible to serve as Walnut's District English Language Advisory Council (DELAC).  As with other district advisory committees, you would represent Walnut at monthly DELAC meetings and then report to Walnut's School Site Council.  DELAC meetings are held on the last Tuesday morning of the month.
