EID-UL-FITR 2024 AT THE IC!

As-salaamu 'alaikum everyone. 

Eid Mubarak! May Allah accept all of our fasts and good deeds performed in His name. 

Insha' Allah, the IC community will once again be celebrating Eid al-Fitr together this year on Wednesday, April 10th*. Please see details below.

*Shi'a Eid date is pending moon sighting.

EID AL-FITR WITH IMAM KHALID LATIF
Prayer: Washington Square Park (under the Arch), across from 60 Washington Square South)
Brunch: Gould Plaza • 44 West 4th St. (between Washington Sq. E. and Mercer St.)

8:00 - Doors Open

8:30 - Khutbah & Prayer
9:00 - Brunch

NOTE: There will be no seating available, so please feel free to bring your own chairs and prayer mats.

EID PRAYER & BRUNCH | IMAM KHALID LATIF
For those who follow the Sunni tradition, the Eid al-Fitr prayer will be held on Wednesday, April 10th in Washington Square Park and will be led by Imam Khalid Latif. We will begin seating people at 8 am and begin the prayer at 8:30 am.

Brunch will be held immediately after the prayer, outside the Stern School of Business in Gould Plaza. There will also be face painting and balloons for IC children! 

EID PRAYER & BRUNCH | DR. SHEIKH FAIYAZ JAFFER
For those who follow the Shi'a tradition, the Eid al-Fitr prayer will be based on a local moon sighting and will be led by Shaykh Faiyaz Jaffer. Both the prayer and brunch will be held in Kimmel Center, in the Rosenthal Pavilion. We will begin seating people at 8 am and begin the prayer at 8:30 am.

NOTE: Our Zakat al-Fitr collection is completely done online. We will not be collecting it during our Eid prayers or during brunch, so be sure to pay it before you attend.

ATTENTION: Per NYU policy, if you are not a current NYU student, faculty, or staff member, you must request in-person access via our Building Access Form before arriving. If the form is not submitted, you will not be able to enter the building. 

Upon arrival, all visitors will be required to present a physical, government-issued photo ID to gain access to the building. Digital copies will not be accepted. No exceptions.
