Cousins, we set out 5 years ago to honor people of African descent who have exemplified excellence in their chosen field in other to inspire other people of African descent to believe that regardless of their skin color, their dreams are valid.
Historically, our Amplify Africa team has done the work to find these amazing individuals but we are looking to do things differently in 2024. We are reaching out to you our community to nominate people who you think deserve to be honored at the next Afro Ball.
In addition to our Excellence Awards, our highest award of the night is called the Amplifier of the Year Award. This award goes to a group or a person who have leveraged their platform to promote culture from the African continent.
Past recipients of the Amplifier of the Year Award are:
