The Winning Inch Signup (Sugarloaf Ridge State Park) Jan 2022
You are invited to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park to compete in a competitive bioblizt game called The Winning Inch. Teams of three (called inches) have one full day (Jan 2nd 2022, rain date Jan 9th 2022) to document as much of the biodiversity of the park as they can according to The Winning Inch Game Rules: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BHtiEwXZNxlyEeKov7LTG9cwOSzp8KgiX-bbvDYu0kc/edit?usp=sharing
Please read these rules before signing up, and remember to observe both their spirit and letter.

The goals of this game, in addition to engaging naturalists in gathering high-quality biodiversity data, are to build an in-person community among naturalists and give experienced iNaturalists a chance to help teach those newer to the community. Note that two of the rules (disallowing more than one iNaturalist with over 20K observations on a single Inch, and extra points for observing a species new to that observer) are specifically intended to encourage collaboration among observers with differing knowledge bases.

These game rules have not been tried out before, so please think of this as a trial run, and provide feedback for their improvement before iteration.

All participants will be given a free day pass to the park. Additionally, participants are invited to camp at the group campsite the evening after the event.

Each member of your inch should fill out this form, but please make sure all three enter the same Inch Name. Please contact DanL@sonomaecologycenter.org with questions.
