Link Leader Responsibilities: Please Read!
Lion’s Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience.
Lion’s Crew is composed of a team of juniors and seniors involved in the link class and link club. Lion’s Crew will consist of Link Leaders (in the class) and Link Team members (outside of the class as part of the club). Each Lion’s Crew Leader is assigned a group of freshmen for whom they are responsible. Lion Leaders will serve as their “link” to getting connected to the social life of LHS. By being connected socially, we hope that students will also connect and perform their best academically. The job of the Lion Leaders will be to check in with freshmen throughout the year, plan and attend social activities with them and simply “be a friend” to help with a smooth transition to Liberty High School.

“Link Leaders” will be part of a class during their regular school day schedule (period 7). In this class, Link Leaders organize activities for the freshmen, learn leadership skills, and work to incorporate freshmen in regular Liberty High School activities. Only 32 students will be chosen to be in the class. The daily class will teach Link Leaders large-group and small-group leadership skills that you will use as a Lion Leader. Link Crew Leaders will work as a team to come up with ideas, calendar activities and interact with the LHS campus as a whole as well as with freshmen students.
Students who would like to be involved in the Lion’s Crew Program but cannot be a member of the Lion’s Crew Class can apply to be a part of the Lion’s Crew Link Team. “Link Team” members will be assigned to a Link Leader in the class, who will act as a liaison to communicate all upcoming freshmen events. Link Team members will also be chosen through an application and interview process if needed. Link Team members will participate in all Lion’s Crew events and are required to stay connected with their assigned freshmen throughout the entire year. Being a part of the Link Team will include all same responsibilities as leaders in class.
I am applying to be:
What makes you a unique candidate for the Link Crew program? What skills do you have that would make you an asset to the program?
What activities are you currently involved with or plan to be involved with next year in school or in the community? Have any of your personal experiences helped you become a strong leader?
